Principles of Hydraulic System Design Diploma

Held at the National Fluid Power Centre, Worksop, UK

A 4-day course suitable for:

                • Hydraulic component and system designers
                • Technical sales and support personnel
                • Application engineers
                • Specification engineers
                • Technical purchasing and procurement personnel
                • Lecturers and trainers

The course provides an understanding of how industrial and mobile hydraulic systems are specified and designed to meet customers' needs. It illustrates how to match the characteristics of individual components to the system requirements and highlights what can go wrong in the process. The approach adopted is a very practical one concentrating on 'rules of thumb' rather than mathematical analysis and provides an excellent foundation for those wishing to participate in the in-depth one-day design modules.

OBJECTIVES

On completion of the course participants will be able to:

                                                                                   - understand the importance of the design specification

                                                                                   - understand the basic process used for designing hydraulic systems

                                                                                   - evaluate loads and determine pressure and flow requirements of actuators

                                                                                   - understand the different methods available for the control of flow and pressure

                                                                                   - be aware of common design mistakes and operational failures

                                                                                   - know the basic directives and standards relating to hydraulic systems

                                                                                   - understand the price vs performance relationship which affects the choice of hydraulic                                                                                      components and systems

Study takes place at the National Fluid Power Centre, Carlton Road, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S81 7HP which is a BFPA certified CETOP Education Centre. It has some of the best practical training facilities in Europe together with highly experienced training engineers able to provide outstanding tuition and training.
